Just when I thought the dark side might be winning their war against the internet, I came across this fax from thepiratebay taunting one of the so-called law enforcement agencies (the self-titled ‘Web Sheriff’) about the redesign of said BitTorrent site. It’s not a one-off either- they have an entire section of their site dedicated to humiliating anyone who tries to intimidate them: take this quote as an example:
Dear John (no, not Wayne),
before attempting to threathen us in Swedish, either hire a real
translator (instead of Babelfish), or at least take a Swedish course. I
can highly recommend http://www.slayradio.org/mastering_swedish.php,
which will teach you the finer nuances of the Swedish language.
Hilarious, and definitely worth checking out if you need some amusement. And you can rest safe in the knowledge that it isn’t harming anyone who doesn’t deserve it- after all, these people sue 12-year olds, dead people, and others who are too poor and weak to defend themselves in court.
